ARCA 2010 has carried out over the years various research projects, in collaboration with the main public research institutions, and on behalf of third parties such as the Governorates, the Ministries and the European Union.

The most significant are:

  • Project- Enhancement of agricultural production in the South- FEAOG (CEE-MAF).
  • Project FLAIR (CEE) - Opportunities of transgenic food crops for the consumer and the food industry in the Community.
  • Project Qualitom Pomodoro (CEE) - Experiment on the effect of cultivation techniques on quality of industrial tomato grown in southern Italy
  • MURST/MIUR Italian Ministry of Universities and Scientific and Technological Research:
  • • Project CO.POM./MURST P.N.R. Theme 6 - New tomato based products (1998-2003).
  • •Project MURST/Agrobios –Technological innovation in the agro-industrial system: use of biotechnologies for the development of new products (2000-2002).
  • •Project PON Theme 4 – Treatment for the recovery and use of by-products from tomato processing industry (2002-2006).
  • •Project PON Theme 8 – Creation of an intelligent software platform for the simulated management of the use of pesticides in the cultivation of industrial tomatoes, through the definition of integrated risk management models for the environment, agricultural operators and consumers (2002-2006).

Lazio Region
  • Integrated intervention and experimentation for the reduction of environmental impact and sustainable development in the agricultural production chains of the Pontine Marshes (2001).
  • Study on the interactions of agronomic techniques and the soil microflora of southern Lazio, for an evaluation of the effects on the level of agricultural fertility (2002)
  • Integrated intervention of research and experimentation for the reduction of environmental impact, sustainable development and qualitative improvement in agriculture in the Lazio Region (2003)

    • Campania Region/CRAA
  • Technical-economic evaluation of San Marzano tomato under anti-aphid network (1996-1997)
  • Variety comparison of new lines and hybrids of San Marzano tomato under anti-aphid network (1996-1997).
  • Conservative multiplication and selection of San Marzano tomato ecotypes (1995-1997).
  • Seed production of ecotypes / varieties of San Marzano tomato (1996-1997)
  • Varietal technical orientation in protected cultivation (1997)
  • Relaunch of grain legumes in Campania (1998-1999)
  • Pilot action for the relaunch of tomatoes in Campania: dissemination of integrated production techniques and enhancement of industrial tomatoes (2002)
  • Creation of a showcase field for the application of the integrated production regulations for industrial tomatoes in Campania (2003)
  • Plant breeding of San Marzano tomato (2004)
  • Identification of innovative agrotechnics capable of increasing the resistance to biotic and abiotic stress in San Marzano tomatoes (2004-2005)
  • Conservative multiplication of the San Marzano tomato germplasm (2004-2007)
  • Pilot action for the enhancement of the Campania tomato production obtained under organic argiculture (2005)
  • Definition of varietal lists of vegetables in Campania (2003-2006)
  • Recovery and enhancement of Campania horticultural germplasm (2004-2006)
  • Integrated actions in the field of biodiversity (2007-2008)
  • Testing of the STREAM software (PON MIUR results) for the safe management of the plant protection practice(2009-2011).
  • Activities of the Centro Orticolo Campano in the thematic areas "Varietal Orientation in horticulture", "Enhancement of traditional ecotypes" and "Development of environmentally friendly cultivation techniques" (2006-2014).
  • Project CRAA: Development of agro-energy supply chains in the Campania region I and II annuity (2008-2012)

    • On Behalf of Third Parties

    • Collaboration with Agripromos (Naples Chamber of Commerce) for the development and enhancement of traditional products in the province of Naples.
    • Collaboration with Agrisviluppo (Caserta Chamber of Commerce) for the development and enhancement of traditional production in the province of Caserta.
    • Implementation of a project "Development of a bean chain for industry in the Vallo di Diano" on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno.
    • Agronomic consultancy to the San Marzano PDO Protection Consortium.
    • Collaboration with the Campania Shopping Center for the planning, setting up and management of an educational garden.
    • Technical collaborations on behalf of Slow Food Campania and participation in the Slow Food Campania Technical Scientific Committee.

    Training Activity

    • Post-graduate training internship in the agro-industrial sector for the transfer of know-how to third countries in the Mediterranean, on behalf of the IPI (Industrial Promotion Institute).
    • Training internship on agro-industrial issues as part of a Master managed by SDOA (School of Business Organization) of Vietri sul Mare (SA).
    • Training internships in the agro-industrial field for undergraduates as part of the international project "ERASMUS".
    • Specific theoretical and practical training projects for the benefit of dozens of trainees (researchers and technicians) awarded scholarships as part of research projects funded by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Research (MURST / MIUR).
    • Training courses for custodian farmers as part of the PSR projects funded by the Campania Region Safeguarding Campania's plant bioodiversity (SALVE) and AgroBiodiversityCampana (ABC).

    Project Portofolio

    • PON project entitled "Creation of supply chains and implementation of processes for the production of biopolymers, biofuels and bio-products with high added value from dedicated crops" in the role of consultants for UNINA DIA.
    • Project: Experimental activity: Tobacco for energy purposes to support areas in crisis - aimed at the study, experimentation and dissemination of the cultivation of oil tobacco for energy purposes. Research and experimentation funded by SeSIRCA (2012-2013).
    • Project: "LIFE11 / ENV / IT / 275 - ECOREMED- Implementation of eco-compatible protocols for agricultural soil remediation in the coast domizio-agro aversano nips" in collaboration with the Interdepartmental Research Center for the Environment (CIRAM), University of Naples " Federico II "(2013-2017).
    • Project "Strengthening the tomato supply chain through integrated post-genomic applications" (GENOPOMPRO) and "Enhancement of Campania vegetable production of excellence with advanced gnomics tools" (GENHORT) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DIA-UNINA) (2013 -2014);
    • CISIA project: setting up of an experimental tomato field for the study of tolerance to thermal and water stress; consulting activity on behalf of CNR-Isafom (2013).
    • Campanian Horticultural Center Activities - client Department of Agriculture of the Campania Region (IV year 2013-2014).
    • PON-MIUR project "Development of green technologies for the production of BIOchemicals for the synthesis and industrial application of POLYMER materials starting from agricultural biomass obtained from sustainable cultivation systems in the Campania Region - BioPoliS" (2014-2017);
    • European project Horizon 2020 program "Traditional tomato varieties and cultural practices: a case for agricultural diversification with impact on food security and health of European population" (2015-2018).
    • Project financed by the Campania Region under the 2014-2020 PSR measure 16.5.1 "Reduction of the Environmental Impact in Agriculture through the Diffusion of Agrobiodiversity" (2018-2020).
    • Functional redevelopment program and return to ordinary agricultural use of the San Giuseppiello area (NA) through the application and validation of the "Life-Ecoremed" rehabilitation protocol - client Ciram Consorzio interuniversitario Federico II University (2015-2021).
    • Project for the operational safety of the land in area "E" and the flower beds in area "B" of the Ecobat plant by applying the "Life-Ecoremed" protocol - client Ciram Consortium of the Federico II University (2015-2021).
    • Project funded by the Campania Region under the 2014-2020 PSR measure 16.5.1 "VEsuvio: NAtura and BIOdiversity" (2018-2020).
    • Project funded by the Ministry of University and Research "PRIN / RHIZOBIOREM: detailed characterization and validation of bio-phytoremediation protocols of contaminated soils" Acerra site "(2019-2022).
    • Project financed by the Campania Region under the RDP 2014-2020 measure 16.5.1 "PROTECTION of the soil and water resources through the optimal management of agricultural practices on tomatoes in the Caserta area" (2019-2020).
    • Project funded by the Campania Region under the RDP 2014-2020 measure 16.5.1 "Use of ancient varieties of durum wheat grown organically to reduce the environmental impact in the Avellino area" (2019-2020).
    • Project funded by the Campania Region under the RDP 2014-2020 measure 16.5.1 "Reduction of the environmental impact in a traditional cereal area (BN) through the organic cultivation of ancient varieties of durum wheat" (2019-2020).
